Gas Stations.

There are about five of the seven or so gas stations in Palo Alto are all in about a two block radius of each other. This alone is slightly inconvenient, further more though they all were charging 4.37 per gallon. Even the Arco station was charging 3.37. The only station that was not charging this amount was the other Arco station, yes within this two mile radius, which had gas for 4.17. The only problem was this single Arco station was closed at 10:07 while the other four stations were still open selling their more expensive gas.

Seriously though this is twenty cents difference per gallon, in one tank up of a 16 gallon tank(my tank was empty with the stupid light on) one has to pay $3.20 cents more. That's not much but adding up every time the car's tanked up that three becomes quite a bit larger..

5 stations basically all on the same block
4 charging 4.37 (including an Arco)
1 charging 4.17 (Arco)
Cheap one closes inexplicably earlier then the others.
